Geoff is the founder of Evergreen, a national funder and facilitator of local sustainable greening projects. Evergreen has supported stewardship events across Canada, which planted over 300,000 native trees and shrubs, 90,000 wildflowers and grasses, and transformed over 3000 schoolyards. Geoff has been instrumental in raising over $100 million to green our cities, including $50 million for the award-winning Toronto Brick Works re-vitalization project.

Peter Busby

Managing Director, Busby Perkins+Will

Peter has made a significant contribution through sustainable design and the first Platinum LEED projects in Canada, including the Dockside Green project in British Columbia. Mr. Busby is a founding member the Canada Green Building Council. Peter's persistent push for green building has influenced designers North America wide, and for his substantial professional and community contributions, Peter was admitted to the College of Fellows of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and Governor General's Order of Canada.

Scott Demark

CEO, BuildGreen

A part of BuildGreen team, Scott delivers the firm's focus to their projects' "triple bottom line: environmental, economic and social". BuildGreen has worked on a significant portfolio of LEED Platinum buildings and climate-neutral community-scale developments including redeveloping brown field lands like the "The Currents" in Ottawa and Dockside Green in BC. The firm is developing new standards and process in this field. Scott is involved with education in all areas of the industry from training modulus for municipalities to curriculum in Canadian universities, and is a board member of Ottawa's Envirocentre, a non-profit partner of the City that delivers energy-efficiency services to the community with a focus on upgrading low-income households to less energy intensive devices.
