Horizon Utilities is progressively integrating sustainability into every aspect of its operations, ensuring that its environmental stewardship, social responsibility and economic excellence contribute to the sustainability of its communities. Ron leads ENBALA in supporting the modernization of the electric power grid through innovative solutions that increase both reliability and efficiency. For example, by using demand-side loads for Grid Balance, electricity system operators can more efficiently integrate renewable energy into the grid and allow traditional generators to run more efficiently, thereby reducing greenhouse gases.Besides his active role as board member on the Ontario Energy Association, the Association for Demand Response and Smart Grid, Ron was elected vice-chair of the Corporate Partners Committee of the Ontario Smart Grid Forum.
