With the generous assistance of Hewlett Packard, The Clean50 Summit will gather together about 120 of Canada’s leading authorities on sustainability, clean tech, low carbon economies, and political leaders. The Summit will introduce 30 Clean50 Alumni to over 95% of the incoming Canada’s 2016 Clean50 Honourees from across Canada, all 10 of the 2016 Emerging Leaders, and most of the project leaders from the winning Clean50 Top 15 Projects teams.
Together this group of forward looking achievers will spend a full day working in cross sectoral teams to tackle a wide variety of ten critical problems facing all of us, racing to find solutions to combat climate change, while advancing Canada’s prosperity in a sustainable fashion.
Challenges our Clean50 expert Honourees will be tackling include how to best reinvest the proceeds derived from pricing carbon to accelerate progress in fighting climate change, identifying the most effective ways to advance sustainability strategies within major corporations, and highlighting the blockages and opportunities for our growing clean tech manufacturing sector.
The results of the policy deliberations will be delivered to political leaders at all levels of government, and the wisdom arising from all 10 work groups’ deliberations will be published in a report to be produced by Quinn and Partners soon after the Summit is completed, and will be made available on this site.
Over lunch, our leading Project honourees will receive their awards and then make rapid fire presentations to a team of 3 Clean50 “Dragons”. All participants will then vote for their favourites and crown this year’s “Clean50 Top Project of the Year”
After a cocktail reception, Honourees will be treated to an award dinner that includes a fireside chat between two of the most courageous political leaders in Canada, who are doing the most to help us transition to a lower carbon, prosperous and sustainable economy as an appetizer.
We look forward to another amazing day of inspiration, connection, and recognition of our sustainability heroes.
The Clean50 Summit will be powered by clean energy from Bullfrog – and our office supplies come from sustainability leader Staples.
A MESSAGE FROM HEWLETT PACKARD
As the world’s largest technology company, we at HP embrace our role as a global citizen, recognizing that what we do and how we do it matters. This includes championing organizations that address global citizenship issues like Canada’s Clean50, and the annual Clean50 Summit, where attendees have the opportunity to foster relationships to help further clean capitalism in Canada.
HP is proud to champion the attendance of the Clean50 “Alumni” at this year’s summit, because we believe collaboration and partnerships are key to addressing the many pressing sustainability issues we face today.
The Clean50 Summit provides attendees the opportunity to meet with other business and sustainability-focused leaders as well as the opportunity to expand our community of likeminded individuals to accelerate meaningful and much needed action.
We look forward to working with other leaders from across Canada, and continuing to be a meaningful part of both the dialogue and the action.
