Kekinusuqs-Judith Sayers

Strategic Adviser, Sayers Strategic Advice

Judith is a force for increasing First Nations role in generating clean energy.  She successfully persuaded BC Hydro to include a chapter on clean energy in their Integrated Resource Plan, providing greater opportunities for First Nations to use clean energy generation as a sustainable financial option. She is also the former Chief of the Hupacasath First Nation in Port Alberni, BC where she coordinated the first 6.5 MW run of the river project, making them the first First Nation to lead and develop such a project as well as be the majority owner. She is a Co-Chair and Founding Board Member for the Island Corridor Foundation, and a Board Member for Clean Energy BC. Judith is currently lobbying the province and BC Hydro to cease the development of the 1100MW Site C dam, which will supply more power than BC needs.
