Director, Clean Economy, Pembina Institute
Julia is a master instigator, connector and leading voice for climate action in Alberta, advancing the discussion around energy efficiency and clean energy. She created the New Energy Economy project, a web-based map highlighting low-carbon projects across Alberta. Within a year 200 initiatives were identified, and a full website launched to showcase new energy success stories. In addition, she led a team of 20+ in delivering the 2017 Alberta Climate Summit, which brought together more than 500 thought leaders across government, industry and civil society. As she organized networking opportunities for speakers, the one-day event morphed into the Alberta Climate Week, which continues this year. Combined with numerous publications, Julia is bringing fresh voices into a conversation seldom heard in Alberta.
