The Clean50 Summit will take place at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club (RCYC) Clubhouse on Toronto Island, overlooking Toronto harbour and the city skyline. Participants will be ferried to the island on the RCYC launch, the Kwasind,  departing from the RCYC Base at 150 Cherry Street.

Date: Thursday, September 22nd, 2016

Workshop attendee arrivals: 10:00am for the 10:15 launch to the Island. (If you are arriving directly from the Island Airport, see below.) Registration will take place on the upper level of the RCYC Clubhouse.

Dinner attendee arrivals: 5:00-5:30pm arrival for the 5:15 or 5:45 launch to the Island. Dinner seating at 6:40 pm in the Ballroom (upper level).

Location: Meet at the RCYC launch site at 150 Cherry Street, Toronto. Please note the Google map on the US site sometimes improperly places 150 Cherry Street – The RCYC parking lot and boat launch is in fact SOUTH of the Polson Pier / “Docks” and the channel, just north of Unwin. Ample pay parking is available immediately beside the ferry location.

The launch to the Clubhouse is the longest continuously serving passenger boat in the world. The launch departs the city on the quarter hours (i.e. 10:15 and 10:45), and departs the Island on the hour and half hour (i.e. 9:30, 10:00). The trip is 10 minutes in duration, very stable, and no one has yet experienced motion sickness on board. When you arrive, go to the main clubhouse entrance, and then register upstairs.

Arriving directly from the Island Airport: The fastest, greenest and most economical way of getting from the airport to the RCYC is by water taxi.

  • The trip takes about 10 minutes across the harbour. The pick-up location is in the western gap, from a stairway immediately to the west (left) of the official airport ferry slip.
  • Please make us aware of your estimated arrival time at the airport and, if possible, we will coordinate multiple passengers, if possible.
  • If you wish, you may pre-arrange pickup and departure with an RCYC member who has agreed to manage water taxi pickup and drop off.  His  fee is $15 per person   Kurt: 647-444-7245   We recommend calling or emailing Delta before September 21st  to advise of your arrival time.   Advance tickets – or if a receipt is required – may be purchased on the Eventbrite Site when registering for the Summit.

Dress: Business casual, with jackets at dinner but no ties required! Please note: RCYC dress code requires that attendees not wear denim.  Men: no shirts without collars.

Other: The RCYC also has a rule restricting use of cell phones inside the clubhouse.  Silent use is fine (no conversations).   Most participants feel awkward taking calls during work groups – but for absolutely essential calls, please excuse yourself  and walk to the either the upstairs verandah or the path in front of the main entrance to complete your calls.

Seating is at 6:40 PM and Awardees are called to the stage by category, at various times in between courses. The dinner will conclude at approximately 9:30 PM and networking  / coffee continues until 10 PM and beyond.
