Commitments for 2013: In September 2012 at the Clean50 Summit, most attendees made public commitments for things they would do to "further sustainability" over the next 12 months. Chort's commitments were:

- Nominate a politician for the 2014 Clean50
- Explore new/best practices around redefining return on investment decision-makers
- Working with key stakeholders to identify innovative ideas using sustainability as a lens

In Addition: Honourees identified good ideas they liked and would do their best to support. Chort's "Likes" were:

- I will seek out and nominate new individuals deserving of the Clean50 award
- I will look for a way to share my expertise in a developing country
- I will publish five success stories of sustainable business
- I will raise sustainability during a dinner party, hockey game, checkout line, etc
- Develop new financing structures to de-risk clean-tech adoption (including risk assessments)
- Educate consumers on more sustainable products and practices
- I will challenge human resources to embed sustainability in recruiting process
- I will challenge my CEO to educate the board on the value of sustainability measurement
