Co-Founder, Korotu Technology Inc.
Investing in nature is one of the best things we can do to protect our climate and biodiversity. But as a society, we struggle to do so at scale, partly because nature is fabulously difficult to measure. These three leaders are working together to solve this with a software platform, LandSteward, that monitors nature from satellites, drones and ground sensors. Designed as the ultimate multi-tool for environmental management, LandSteward integrates satellites, drones, and ground sensors to provide real-time insights into ecosystem health. The platform has identified over 1.3 million hectares for protection and assessed Hurricane Fiona’s damage to forests. It also aids in preserving habitats for endangered species like the Bobolink bird while developing drone pilot skills and attracting fresh talent, driving innovation in environmental stewardship and cleantech.

Agata Rudd, as co-founder, has played a key role in Korotu’s development, steering engagement with many Indigenous and settler communities to understand the needs of these groups, and to develop a holistic way of seeing challenges and opportunities.
