On Friday, September 27th, 2019, over 50,000 concerned citizens took to Toronto’s streets in support of a Global Climate Strike – continuing a string of Friday marches that had been led and coordinated in no small part by Allie for months. An excellent public speaker, her presence at conferences, schools and universities, in the media and in front of elected officials have made her a fierce and effective advocate for climate justice. Starting alone late 2018, Allie built a team that has welcomed more and more youth from across the GTA. Now entirely youth led, the team has 4 subgroups: A teenagers’ movement, and one team at each of the campuses at York, Ryerson and U of T, each with their own organizations.
