Allison Penner

A vastly inefficient food system is a major contributor to climate change and the primary cause of habitat and biodiversity loss. Worse, one-third to one-half of food is wasted and 83% of agricultural land is dedicated to animal agriculture, despite providing less than ⅕ of calories. Determined to drive change, Allison founded Reimagine Agriculture, creating the Canadian cellular agriculture campaign and in the two past years raised over $180,000, built a team of 4 staff members, 20 volunteers and board members, facilitated over 200+ hours of training for engaging MPs, and worked with two law schools developing a roadmap to reduce food waste. Education resources created for teachers have been viewed/used over 100,000 times.
