Anastasia Kiku
Chief Operating Officer, Reusables.com
Reusable cup programs usually fail for one boring reason: nobody can prove the cups actually come back. Anastasia fixed that, building the operational playbook behind 75 Vancouver-made smart return bins that track containers well enough to hit a 98-plus percent return rate, versus 60 to 70 percent for programs relying on goodwill alone. Across 19 deployments over 27 months, including Fraser Health, UCLA and the University of Guelph, the system logged more than a million container reuses and avoided over 250 tonnes of CO2. Anastasia has since taken that playbook south into five U.S. states, proving the circular economy works better when the cups actually come full circle.
