After deciding to move to recycled materials in 2021, by 2022, Ash has facilitated a shift from using virgin materials to recycled fibers in each new collection launched since. Those efforts resulted in over 8000 tonnes of recycled materials and over 1200 tonnes of sustainable materials, such as organic cotton and responsibly sourced modal fibers, used in garments. A matching commitment to get to net-zero scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2028 is well underway, and the firm has established robust data collection mechanisms to accurately calculate all operational emissions. Ash also spearheaded the team’s efforts to ensure that 100% of their fabric suppliers are bluesign®/OEKO-TEX® certified and committed to eliminating harmful substances/chemicals from the supply chain and he also assisted with establishing the following material certifications: Responsible Down Standard (RDS), Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)/Organic Content Standard (OCS). On top of that, Mondetta became a B Corp.
