Basma Majerbi, PhD

Situated at the intersection of climate action and impact investing, the Impact Investing Hub is poised to remove knowledge barriers and co-create innovative finance solutions to address climate change, biodiversity loss, and rising inequalities. Basma, associate professor at Gustavson School of Business, is the visionary behind the Hub and is dedicated to merging finance with climate action. Officially launched in Spring 2023, the Hub has already provided education for over 100 students through hands-on projects and internships and trained 11 participants from SMEs in ESG fundamentals. Basma’s contribution to Accelerating Community Energy Transformation project, bolstered by $83.6 million federal grant, is setting the stage for putting impact investing at the core of Canada’s clean energy future. Basma’s work proves that impactful change begins with innovative education and collaborative research.
