Chris Henderson, BA,MA

Chris’s career has been central to Canadian impact-oriented social, economic and ecological leadership at the intersection of corporate sustainability, climate action, Indigenous clean energy and energy transition for three decades. As Co-founder of the Delphi Group and the EXCEL Partnership, and as Chair of the Globe Series, Chris has driven significant progress for Canada’s CSR landscape. Chris’s greatest impact to date has been his leadership at Indigenous Clean Energy (ICE), which has grown to become the primary force driving Indigenous support, participation and ownership of clean energy projects. This is a culmination of major effort that now sees Indigenous communities and organizations across Canada owning, co-owning or deriving benefits from almost 21% of Canada’s electricity-generating infrastructure, all renewable. His book, Aboriginal Power, tells the important story of how Indigenous Peoples in Canada are harnessing clean energy projects. The scale, length, and durability of Chris’ contributions to Canadian sustainability is a lifetime achievement to be celebrated.
