Dan is committed to reducing OCH’s environmental impact and making social housing in Ottawa more sustainable. He has driven various programs, including $3.5M of solar installations, $5.0M of water retrofits (reducing consumption by 40%), insulation in over 700 units and a portfolio-wide LED Lighting conversion project. These projects reduce OCH’s ecological footprint and are generating over $5.5M annually in savings and revenues. That money is being reinvested into OCH’s 15,000 homes, continuing the sustainability trend. In order to reach the next level of sustainability, Dan is currently developing a tailored tenant engagement program with the goal of eliminating waste at its source.
