David’s two-decade journey in Canada’s renewable energy sector reached its zenith with the realization of the Claresholm Solar project, one of Canada’s largest solar endeavors. Under his leadership, Capstone has undergone transformative growth—financing, constructing, and commissioning 192 MW of new renewable energy generation capacity since 2021—enough electricity for more than 50,000 Canadian homes each year. Capstone’s growth during the Covid-19 pandemic highlights David’s leadership; he employed more green workers and four new facilities were built on-time and on-budget, a challenge for any large utility project, but a true achievement with the added hurdles of travel bans, supply chain issues, and health and safety concerns [105].
