SkyFire Energy has been chasing the sun since 2001, and under David’s leadership, the employee-owned, Certified B Corporation has completed more than 10,000 grid-connected solar systems and over 250 megawatts across eight provinces and territories, with crews also working on more than 2 gigawatts of utility-scale solar and storage nationwide. David steered the acquisition of Hakai Energy Solutions and the 5.3 MW Anahim Lake project for the Ulkatcho First Nation, Canada’s largest off-grid solar installation, expected to cut diesel use by 64 percent, or 1.1 million litres a year. David’s reach goes beyond the solar modules. Through the Power Your Purpose program, SkyFire donates solar systems to nonprofits each year, powering Little Warriors’ Be Brave Ranch, Urban Society of Aboriginal Youth, and Discovery House, helping a little more light find its way to those who need it most.
