Dr. Paul Addo
Paul’s bet is that captured carbon dioxide is worth more when turned into something useful than buried underground. SeeO2 Energy uses high-temperature solid oxide electrolysis to convert captured CO₂ and water into hydrogen, carbon monoxide and syngas, the same feedstocks many fuels and chemicals presently extracted from fossil resources. At commercial scale, each 1-megawatt SeeO2 system is projected to cut roughly 4,400 tonnes of CO₂ annually. Paul has moved the technology from University of Calgary research roots through extended testing and a paid industrial pilot, building partnerships with Repsol, ATCO and others along the way, while securing funding from a variety of sources. With intellectual property protected, SeeO2 is proving industry can start seeing CO₂ differently.
