Over the last two years, Drummond has been very busy! His advocacy inspired Arc’teryx to commit to a Science-Based climate target of a 65% reduction in scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions per unit value add between 2020 and 2030, in partnership with the World Resources Institute’s Science-Based Targets initiative. In doing so, Arc’teryx is one of a handful of Canadian companies with approved climate targets aligned to the Paris Climate Convention emissions targets. Collaborating across the organization, he played a critical role in the launch of “Arc’teryx Used Gear” in 2019, the company’s first circular economy business model that enables resale and purchase of underused outdoor gear. And enables the company to profit a second time from creating durable high quality outdoor clothing.
