Elliott Cappell

Infrastructure and buildings are the largest sources of emissions in most Canadian cities and are at the highest risk from the impacts of climate change. Elliott is working hard in both the private and public sectors to help limit their impact and make them more resilient. Most notably, he supports the Federal government’s implementation of the Greening Government Strategy, including a $1 bn investment into low carbon and net zero buildings. Elliott and his team have assisted over 20 private-sector clients in developing climate change strategies, many of whom are working to a “well below 2” or “1.5” target. He also led the development of the first-ever costing of the impact of climate change to Ontario’s $250 bn infrastructure stock.
