Executive Director, Trottier Family Foundation

Cities are one of the largest sources of GHG emissions in Canada. However, there’s no simple switch to make a city low carbon – it involves careful planning and incremental changes. That’s where the work of Eric comes in. Over the past two years, he has played a leading role in bringing the Low Carbon Cities Canada (LC3) initiative to life, helping cities to reach their full potential in carbon reduction. Of note, his work with the City of Montreal and Mayor Plante to help develop Montreal’s carbon neutral climate action plan led to the City’s commitment to reducing emissions by 55%. To help with this, the Trottier Foundation assisted with creating the Montreal Climate Partnership, which helped mobilize civil society around the new climate plan.
