Long advocating that governments need to focus more effort on climate adaptation, Blair is Canada’s floodwall: the driving force behind the creation of the leading edge applied research center that seeks to prepare Canadians for the coming and inevitable impacts of extreme weather. Through hundreds of speaking and media engagements, and meetings with leaders across all spectrums, Blair has raised awareness of the urgency of the situation, and played a significant role to establish new national standards that will mitigate extreme weather impacts that might otherwise cause incalculable damage to such key assets as residential housing and Canada’s electricity sector.
