Brent Gilmour, MCIP RPP
Executive Director, QUEST - Quality Urban Energy Systems of Tomorrow
A “Community Energy Plan” (CEP) is a 360 degree review to define energy priorities and improve how energy is used in a community while reducing GHGs. Communities across Canada account for nearly 60% of energy use and over half of our GHG emissions. Brent has led QUEST’s Smart Energy Communities initiative, which supports the implementation of over 400 CEPs, representing more than 50% of the Canadian population, to improve efficiency, cut emissions, and drive economic development. He has also built-out a national grassroots network of eight provincial and regional Caucuses with 1200+ participants to make Smart Energy Communities come to life!
