A man on a mission to improve the performance, quality, comfort, durability, and energy efficiency of homes across Canada, Gord founded his company in 1986 – and has been essential in carrying out this mission by encouraging development and adoption of new energy efficient innovative technologies to achieve the goals of the builder program initiatives ever since. His work on CSA standards development as well as constant involvement with CHBA, NRCan, manufacturers, utilities and related housing industry service organizations provides builders with the resources they need to make change much simpler to implement. In the last 2 years alone, Building Knowledge has partnered with EnerQuality and taken builders through the design, energy analysis, construction, testing, verification and labelling of over 7,000 ENERGY STAR homes, which accounts for almost half of all ENERGY STAR qualified homes built in Canada in that period.
