Hadley Archer
Executive Director, Nature United
Believing nature is the foundation of strong communities, economies and futures, Hadley and his team recognized that supporting the authority and capacity of Indigenous peoples to steward their lands and waters is critical to the health of Canada’s ecosystems. For over a decade, the organization has partnered with First Nations across Canada, and recently celebrated two major achievements: the protection of 2.5 million acres in the Northwest Territories led by the Łutsël K’é Dene First Nation, and the announcement by the Ahousaht First Nation in British Columbia of their Land Use Vision that prioritizes sustainable economic development and conserves more than 80% of their 170,000-hectare traditional territory.
