Indrani Butany, MBA
Enhancing local grids and empowering sustainable technologies, resiliency, and conservation, Indrani sets an example for other electric utilities, leading the energy transition, exemplified by demonstrated leadership on three separate projects. The proposed “Sustainable Brooklin” project will construct 11,000 new homes with features that enable Distributed Energy Resources (“DERs”) including solar panels, battery storage and electric vehicle chargers, providing a solid foundation for future conservation. The proposed “Whitby Smart Grid” project integrates several smart grid technologies into the distribution network to offer customers a net $700,000 annual benefit and reduce energy consumption by 3%. The “Altona Towns” project is a brand-new fully-integrated microgrid community that gives new homeowners control over their electricity use and generation, and uses solar panels and battery storage to improve resiliency and reduce energy costs.
