e-Zinc provides a radical shift in clean energy storage technology, allowing the cost-effective storage of sustainably sourced energy in zinc, different from traditional batteries. Since James took over leadership of e-Zinc in 2018, the company has been “on a rocket ship”, growing from just 6 to ~50 employees and securing ~$43 Million in investment. The technology has also completely transformed: Once an early-stage prototype, but now performing at a sufficient level for early market adoption. Technical improvements have enabled the company to deploy its first in-field system at a customer site, and they are in the process of constructing a 45,000 square foot manufacturing facility to deliver their next projects with customers Toyota Tsusho and the California Energy Commission.
