Jamie Bonham
With nearly two decades leading environmental stewardship, Jamie has significantly shaped the sustainability landscape. Leading NEI’s stewardship program, he has driven key policy changes and regulatory advancements in climate action. As a key figure on the board of the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA), Jamie has been crucial in elevating global mining standards. IRMA now includes 88 mining companies in 30 countries, with 52 materials audited, and the Secretariat has expanded from 5 to 19 staff. Jamie’s advocacy has also influenced major climate reporting standards, including the ISSB’s IFRS sustainability standards and SEC disclosure rules, and facilitated major GHG reduction commitments from companies including Suncor and Enbridge.
