Jane McDonald
At the forefront of Canadian climate policy for decades, Jane has held senior roles in both the office of the Minister of Environment and Climate Change and the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), where she helped secure over $30M to expand the Experimental Lakes Area. In her new role at Climate and Nature Solutions, Jane’s first task was to distill inputs from a diverse group of 17 experts appointed by the UN Secretary General – and chaired by her colleague Catherine McKenna – to publish clear standards for credible net zero efforts by companies, cities and regions. The expert group held 40 consultations around the world and produced a call to action that continues to have significant impact. The “Integrity Matters” report launched at COP27 and is used by businesses, governments, the UN and civil society to combat greenwashing and recognize climate leadership.
