Janna Wale, M.Sc.
Indigenous Research and Partnerships Lead, Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions
Janna has spent the past two years making one argument impossible to ignore: Canada cannot plan its climate response without Indigenous governance at the table. She has published widely cited papers, including Buried Burdens and Presence and Power, the latter reshaping national conversations about the gap between token consultation and real inclusion in climate planning. Janna now sits on the Canada in a Changing Climate: National Assessment Process Advisory Committee, and serves as a Contributing Lead Author for the IPBES-IPCC biodiversity and climate assessment. Her public work, from a TEDx talk to the podcast A Radical Act of Hope, carries Indigenous climate leadership from the footnotes into the headlines.
