President & CEO, Extropic Energy

Clean energy projects for northern communities usually die in the gap between what a community wants, what funding rules require, and what the technology can deliver. Jonathan built the company that closes this gap. He scaled Extropic and Aurora Renewables from a combined $4.75 million to $7.9 million in revenue, launched a powerline division for in-house microgrid delivery, and built a digital twin to validate and reuse each design rather than reinvent it. The proof point is the La Plonge microgrid, 750 kW of solar and 2 MWh of storage, owned by English River First Nation and built by an Indigenous workforce, delivered through a 58-day wildfire evacuation and a washed-out bridge, engineered to survive more than just -50oC.
