Katherine Skene
Co-Chair, Ranked Ballot Initiative of Toronto
Katherine leads a team of 12 core volunteers in the Ranked Ballot Initiative of Toronto. Since January 2013, they have secured the support of Toronto City Council for ranked ballots in municipal elections, and are currently working with the Province on enabling legislation that would allow for their implementation across the province. Ranked ballots have the ability to seriously impact political campaigns by refocusing politicians and media on policy ideas around the environment, transit, poverty reduction, and diversity.
