Since being elected as the Member of Parliament for Victoria, Laurel has held the role of the NDP’s Environment and Climate Change Critic in which she has continuously pushed the federal government to pursue bolder and stronger climate and environmental policy and has successfully brought forth change in government action. Through her fierce advocacy and relentless passion, she has successfully brokered several deals with the federal government in the supply and confidence agreement between the Liberal government and the NDP to secure strong action in the face of this climate emergency. Laurel’s firm beliefs of justice and fairness drive her to build a better planet for all and ensure that the biggest polluters are held accountable for the climate crisis.
