As the SVP, Network Transformation at TELUS, Lloyd Switzer drives the sustainable transformation of the telecom company’s networks, as well as its 10-year energy reduction initiative. This includes the construction of two state of the art Internet Data Centres designed to LEED gold status that are 80% more efficient than traditional facilities. Last year the team eliminated 42.7 GWh in annualized energy waste – the equivalent of the carbon sequestered annually by 435,000 seedling trees or removing 3,500 cars off the road. Lloyd demonstrates the results that can come from being sustainability aware.
