Maria is closing the sustainable finance skills gap for professionals and students globally. Her brainchild, Education for Sustainability (ED4S), has successfully onboarded over 30,000 finance professionals in 92 countries, transforming the industry’s approach to sustainability. In Canada alone, her programs have initiated over 6,000 professionals into the world of sustainable finance, getting them started to incorporate sustainability in their roles . Through a program designed by Maria and sponsored by Finance Montreal, over 500 university students and recent graduates in Quebec have been introduced to Sustainability Reporting Standards (SASB) and sustainable investing, leading many to careers in sustainability. Her organization disrupts business norms by onboarding finance professionals through their employers, fostering widespread awareness and appetite for integrating sustainability across various professional roles.
