Martha Casey

Interim President & CEO, EfficiencyOne

Saving energy sounds passive, but Martha has shown that it can be an active strategy for keeping Nova Scotia’s grid on its feet. Under her leadership, Efficiency Nova Scotia’s programs helped residents avoid more than 207,000 tonnes of GHG emissions and captured 302 GWh in electrical savings between 2024 and 2025 alone. She grew the demand response program from 8.1 MW of savings in 2024 to 15.7 MW in 2026 and filed the province’s largest-ever Demand Side Management Plan for 2027 through 2031, projected to save Nova Scotians over $680 million if approved. Her case to regulators and government is simple: efficiency is cheaper than building new generation, and comfort shouldn’t cost more than it has to.
