Matt Jamieson, MBA,ICD.D
When Matt took the helm, Six Nations was already a proud steward of the land. A decade later, he has turned that stewardship into a renewable energy portfolio spanning solar, wind, that generates 2.4 GW in renewable energy generation and an astonishing 1.1 GW of battery storage. SNGRDC now holds the title of largest Indigenous battery storage owner in North America, with their Oneida Energy Storage project alone changing the grid game. The $700M initiative, built on a first-of-its-kind provincial contract, secured $50M in grants and the Canada Infrastructure Bank’s first storage investment. And Matt didn’t stop at grid-scale impact: EV chargers, 2,300 solar panels on local businesses, and glamping powered by the sun are just a few more ways he’s bringing sustainable innovation to his community.
