In 2010, Peter led Earth Rangers’ launch of “Bring Back the Wild,” a kid powered conservation program to support the acquisition and restoration of endangered habitats across Canada. Since then, over 200,000 children have joined Earth Rangers to help protect animals ranging from the grizzly bear to the Jefferson salamander, and have collectively raised over $500,000. More importantly, through engagement these Earth Rangers have also helped spread the message within their communities about the importance of protecting biodiversity. The recently built Earth Rangers Center has just been certified LEED Platinum – with the highest rating in Canada, using only 10% of the energy typically consumed by an average building of similar size.
