Philipp Andres
Long before wind and solar became fixtures of Canada’s energy landscape, Philipp was helping build the projects that would make them mainstream. Through Port Albert Wind Farms, he co-developed the 40-megawatt Kingsbridge wind farm and the 270-megawatt K2 project near Goderich, Ontario, both later acquired by Capital Power. He also developed the Cruickshank Wind Farm near Tiverton, later sold to Enbridge. At Vestas Canada and Vestas Americas, he helped scale the industry beyond individual projects and bring a substantial share of the country’s wind capacity online. That same instinct carried into solar. As President of Perimeter Solar, Philipp took Alberta’s 130-megawatt Claresholm project from concept through permitting and financing, negotiated its power purchase agreement, and sold it to Capstone Infrastructure and Obton A/S in 2019. Along the way, he served on the boards of CanREA, the American Wind Energy Association and Ontario’s APPrO, helping renewable energy shed the “alternative” label one project at a time.
