Philippe Bernier, M.Phil., P.Eng

Philippe is embedding sustainability within commercial real estate across Canada and beyond. He secured the funding for JLL’s Real Estate Futures Lab (REFL), created to accelerate building decarbonization, and is supporting the rapid growth of JLL Canada’s Property & Asset Management sustainability team, helping colleagues implement sustainability strategies in over 50 million square feet of assets. He serves on the Advisory Committee for the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification to promote a more welcoming built environment for people of all abilities, and served as the sole Canadian interviewee in the GRESB global results event in 2022. Philippe’s reach even extends to his own home – he built a net-zero carbon lifetime home, and retrofitted a heritage 1885 home to achieve 40% GHG emissions reductions.
