Leading community climate initiatives and guiding municipalities across Nova Scotia and PEI to tackle climate challenges head-on. Under Rachel’s direction, Clean’s Community Climate Capacity program has grown to include 19 Nova Scotian communities and is set to reach 9 more, advancing energy efficiency retrofits, community energy mapping and rural resilience. In the program’s first year, her team secured $10.1 million in funding for local climate action, supporting projects from flood resilience upgrades to low-carbon planning. Formerly the Town of New Glasgow’s first-ever Climate Change and Sustainability Manager, Rachel continues her work at Clean to ensure climate plans deliver real benefits for people and places.
