Dr. John Robinson
Professor, Munk School of Global Affairs, and School of the Environment, University of Toronto
As the Associate Provost Sustainability at UBC, John was responsible for building programs that connected operational staff with academic leaders, course work, and students to allow the students to actually “do sustainability” in the real world. This integration focused approach led UBC into the top 10 of all 650 universities on the international Sustainability Tracking Assessment and Rating System (STARS), and the second highest rated of all universities with over 30,000 students. Beyond that, different programs connected students with external partners, and offered sustainability curriculum pathways to every undergraduate student at UBC. Now at U of T, John is pursuing a similar path.
