Ron Hallman, MA
Under Ron’s leadership, Parks Canada has made transformative strides in environmental stewardship and Indigenous collaboration. His tenure has been marked by a dedicated push to advance Canada’s conservation commitments, including to conserve 30% of Canada’s lands and oceans by 2030. Notably, this includes the creation of new ecologically and culturally significant protected areas, including four national marine conservation areas and four national parks. Ron championed the co-development of an Indigenous Stewardship Policy to significantly increase the integration of Indigenous knowledge into park management and advance environmental and social justice in accordance with the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Ron has also prioritized initiatives to cut operational greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by the end of 2025.
