Sandra Phillips
What if you could grab a car or bike and go – using your transit card? As a “Shared Mobility Architect”, Sandra has been focused on making shared and electric mobility part of the fabric of urban transportation for the past decade. She is a founding member of several carshare services such as car2go and Evo that have collectively removed 50,000 personal vehicles from Canadian roads. Her most recent project is a “Mobility-as-a-Service” (MaaS) initiative in Vancouver offering public transit, bikeshare, and carshare programs through the regular public transit fare card with the goal of creating reliable and affordable mobility options to shift transportation behaviour away from personally owned vehicles – a goal they in reach, as over 60% of participants in the initial pilot replaced personal vehicle trips with alternatives.
