Senator Mary Coyle
When it comes to supporting her Senate colleagues to be climate informed legislators, Senator Mary Coyle is a leader. She conceived and continues to lead Senators for Climate Solutions, a non-partisan, big tent, network of more than 60 Senators. Since 2021, Senators for Climate Solutions has served senators committed to finding effective solutions to climate change by hosting 23 sessions with climate experts and producing 20 climate related briefing notes. Mary also supported debate on the Canadian Net Zero Emissions Accountability Act.
Her strategic vision extends to the next generation: she is championing the 2025 Canadian Youth Climate Assembly, giving young Canadians a platform to influence Parliament directly. Mary balances this with her legislative duties, launching Senate inquiries and making regular statements on climate accountability. Across initiatives, her influence – measured in knowledge, engagement, and action – is both tangible and far-reaching.
