Small / medium enterprises (SMEs) are often too busy counting trees to look at the forest – yet engaging them is critical to Canada reaching our Paris commitments. Elizabeth and her team have created rigorous but practical processes and methodology for SMEs to measure their GhG emissions and profitably reduce them – the first and only database to do so. And to great results: Over 875 businesses with approximately 80,000 employees, Climate Smart-certified businesses have cut 106,000 tonnes of GHG emissions whilst saving $42 million dollars annually – from a pool of a million tonnes measured. The average participant cuts emissions by 11% after 2 years.
