As an architect with a deep understanding of construction’s environmental impact, Sheida identified a critical gap – the slow, expensive process of traditional consulting for building decarbonization. Bridging this gap, she co-founded Adaptis, a B2B software platform that delivers whole-lifecycle carbon assessments 20 times quicker and at a tenth of the cost. In just two years, Adaptis has completed over 300 building assessments, enabling a total GHG emission reduction of 108,600 tCO2e over the lifespan of these buildings. Sheida’s innovative approach also led to the first automated circularity assessment of a Toronto church, diverting 1,237 tonnes of materials from landfills. By making decarbonization accessible and affordable, Sheida’s leadership is positioning the building industry for sustainable construction and a net-zero future.
