Dr. Stewart Elgie
Chair, Sustainable Prosperity, Professor, University of Ottawa
Formerly an environmental lawyer, Stewart left a pioneering career to focus on greening Canada’s economy, and so founded Canada’s first major green economy think tank and research network. Sustainable Prosperity brings top experts together with business, environment and policy leaders to generate innovative policy solutions for a stronger, cleaner economy. Elgie’s research, convening and communications leadership has helped make market-based approaches for cleaner growth a key issue in Canada’s policy debate, and significantly influenced policy development on carbon pricing and other issues.
