Sue Cadman
Fast fashion runs on overproduction and free returns; Sue has built clothing brand Miik to run on the opposite instincts. She keeps sourcing within a roughly 50-kilometre Ontario production loop and works with mills certified under OEKO-TEX and Lenzing standards for low-impact dyeing and fibre production. Miik ships in 100 percent compostable mailers designed to double as return bags, offers free local pickup to skip delivery trucks, and lets customers fund carbon offsets at checkout. Together, those add up to nearly 600,000 pounds of CO2 offset in under two and a half years. Sue’s team has also diverted more than 3,800 garments from landfill through a seconds sale and resale marketplace, run by 16 staff who treat sustainability like a stitch running through everything they make.
