Thomas Green
When most saw marine plastic as a problem, Thomas saw a resource waiting for a second life. At EcoAxis, he pioneered a mobile aquaculture recycling system that processes HDPE waste onsite, keeping 780,000+ lbs of plastic out of landfills and oceans. The recycled granules are transported to Quebec for remanufacturing into resin for pipe production, exemplifying a working circular economy. He redesigned EcoAxis’s remote access infrastructure, deploying over 1,000 customized access mats made from recycled materials, reducing habitat disturbance and emissions from the heavy equipment use. His strategic foresight and relentless problem-solving turns environmental obstacles into replicable solutions for some of Canada’s toughest, most remote industrial landscapes.
